Our mission is to help players become musicians by presenting simple and efficient methods of learning music on the guitar and bass. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable with your instrument, never overwhelmed or confused. The following are some of the important events in the history of 12 Tone Music Publishing, LLC.

1996, we introduced the worlds most unique and innovative guitar learning product - Guitar EncycloMedia. Now in its second edition, it is the culmination of over 30 years of music study applied to the guitar. It continues to excite and enlighten guitar players of all ages, styles and backgrounds. There is no substitute for Guitar EncycloMedia. It presents the truth and is therefore timeless.

1998, we became increasingly aware of the needs and demands of targeted fretboard study. Guitar Fretboard Flashcards is the answer to those needs.

1999, 4 String and 5 String Bass Fretboard Flashcards were introduced to meet the demanding needs of today's forward thinking musicians studing and playing Bass.

2002, Jazz Guitar Part I for Beginners with Mike Overly was produced on VHS. This was our first video and promises to be just the start for all visual learners.

2003, the Revised Second Edition of Guitar EncycloMedia was completed. Over 200 pages were revised to reflect the unending thoughts and ideas of students around the world - and brings the GEM into the 21st Century. Thank you one and all!

2004 was a busy year for us, we were proud to present Bass EncycloMedia where bass players of all levels of experience could learn how to see the whole fretboard and easily play its many chord, scale and arpeggio fragments. Welcome bass players! Guitar Fretboard Facts introduced a collection of 38 powerful guitar lessons designed to further illustrate and connect specific musical concepts presented in Guitar EncycloMedia. Also, the re-mastered DVD version of Jazz Guitar Part I for Beginners was released.

2005, GEM Jam and BEM Jam audio disc 1 - the long awaited play along audio CD for the songs of Guitar EncycloMedia and Bass EncycloMedia were released. If you own a copy of the GEM or BEM, you owe it to yourself to get a copy of GEM Jam and BEM Jam audio disc 1 today! Now you can play along and really have some fun.

2006, Bass Fretboard Facts presented a collection of 38 powerful bass lessons designed to further illustrate and connect specific musical concepts presented in Bass EncycloMedia is sent out into the world

2007, 6 String Bass Fretboard Flashcards were introduced to meet the ever demanding needs of musicians playing Bass. Stay tuned for more unique and revolutionary guitar and bass learning products to be announced during this our 11th exciting year.

2009, the Revised 2nd Edition of Guitar Fretboard Flashcards presented 21 names for 12 sounds and introduced the first complete deck of guitar fretboard flashcards to the world.

2011, Starting with a newly redesigned website and the completion of the Revised 3rd Edition of Guitar Fretboard Flashcards ~ Sign Before Symbol.~ which brings speed and clarity to the only complete deck of guitar fretboard flashcards in the world, we released the Tone Note® Music Method in March at The Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, OH. 2011 looks to be an extra exciting year for 12 Tone Music as other projects in preparation are a revised 2nd edition of the 5 string bass flashcards and a special 5 string edition of Bass Encyclomedia, and a 3rd revised edition of Guitar EncycloMedia ~ the Universal Key edition. Also in the works are smartphone and iPad apps which will further extend the 12 Tone Music influence on forward thinking musicians playing guitar and bass. Stay tuned as the year unfolds!
