| Mike Overly has a University Degree in Music Composition and graduated with music’s highest honors Pi Kappa Lambda. He also received the highest Arts and Science National Academic honors Phi Kappa Phi. Mike is a celebrated author, international performer, superior music instructor, creator of the hit cable TV show Guitar Forum, and endorser of his signature series “Mike Overly Custom” Schaefer guitar. He is a regular contributor to Guitar Digest Magazine and has had the privilege of studying with many great musicians, including: Joe Pass, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Gene Bertoncini, Peter Sprague and Jimmy Wyble. He has recorded or toured with Tommy Boyce, Carol King, Blue Oyster Cult, Steely Dan, Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive and many others. Mike is a current member of MENC: The National Association of Music Educators and his extensive teaching experience spans over 30 years. He is also a member of NAMM. |
